The Name Patinna The name Patinna is inspired by the Latin word patina, which means:
The sheen on the surface of wood produced with age and use, or constant handling by craftspeople.
To us, this is the measure of great quality and superior handling of the board.
Patinna has another inherent meaning for us. It reflects our double-edged business strategy of partnership (Pat) and innovation (inna).
We regard our customers as an extension of our business and through communication; seek to understand how we can work together to mutual benefit. This may be through product innovation, or it may be in service and supply. We like to work with you on win-win outcomes for our shared long-term satisfaction.
Patinna is designed to be your master ingredient, an MDF product for people who want a material that enhances and
inspires excellent design and craftsmanship.
Fiber the Master ingredient
The master ingredient for the Patinna manufacturing process is pine wood chips, produced from trees grown in local plantation forests. A proportion of our wood resource is FSC Certified as coming from Well-Managed Forest Sources. Rigorous quality checks ensure the purity of the raw material is controlled.
All wood chips pass a magnet that prevents metal fragments from entering the process, and any chips of less than 5mm or more than 40mm are removed. A good wash removes dirt and grit to ensure an even-toned end product and extend the life of cutting tools used to process the boards.
